Knight Rider

Everywhere outside Germany and Austria David Hasselhoff is mostly only known for his role as Michael Knight in Knight Rider. Michael Knight fought together with his speaking car K.I.T.T. against the criminal underworld.

Knight Rider was produced from 1982 to 1986 and first aired in Germany in 1985. In total there are 4 seasons of the original Knight Rider. Later there were also 2 movies and two more TV series. But none of them ever reached the quality of the first show.

Knight Rider was a huge success, because Michael Knight played by David Hasselhoff and K.I.T.T. (short for Knight Industries Two Thousand) were the perfect team. Probably every little boy from Los Angeles to Berlin wanted to be like David and drive a talking Pontiac Trans Am.
